Kevin DuBrow: October 29, 1955 - November 19, 2007

On November 25, 2007, Quiet Riot founding member and singer Kevin DuBrow was found dead in his home in Las Vegas at the age of 52.

I first heard "Cum on Feel the Noize" on a now defunct 80s music station in 2000 and I was hooked; I became a Quiet Riot fan for life. In the almost eight years since, I've discovered a lot of great bands of yesteryear and gained a lot of knowledge and an expansive CD collection of excellent heavy metal. I have Quiet Riot to thank for that and they have always held a special place in my heart; they were THE band that got me into heavy metal.

The last time Quiet Riot came to town, they played at a 21 and over venue and I was underage. I have always wanted to see them in person, and now that will never happen.

A rock and roll legend is gone. He may not have had the strongest voice, he may not have been the best songwriter, but he is one of the greatest rock icons ever. There will never be another Kevin DuBrow. I know he's having one killer jam session with Randy Rhoads in that big garage in the sky right now. God bless him. May he rest in piece.
